September 9 - September 16
Cell Biology (Textbook - Chapter 3)
Monday September 12, Tuesday September 13: 3D Cell Model
Due Date: Thursday, September 15
Bring your supplies to class Monday and Tuesday this week to work on your 3D model of the cell. After Tuesday, no class time will be provided to work on this project. This project may be completed in pairs, but each partner must complete the Cell Review questions on their own. Be sure to look at the sample projects from last year for inspiration.
The Cell and Cell Organelle Quiz - Wednesday September 14
Questions will include labeling a plant and/or animal cell, along with specific questions about cell organelle functions. Review and read the section on cell organelles in Chapter 3 of your textbooks. List of terms to know:
A. cell membrane
B. cell wall
C. centriole
D. chloroplast
E. chromosome
F. cilia
G. cytoskeleton
H. flagella
I. Golgi body
J. lysosome
M. mitochondria

Need to Review and Test yourself on The Cell?
Check out the following website for information, and online quizzes on The Cell. Be careful, a few of the quiz questions may have answers slightly different from what we have discussed in class or is in your textbook. Clarify with me in class, before getting yourself too stressed out.

Cell Biology Test - Friday September 16
Cell Biology Test Outline
-More details will be provided in class, but do not expect Thursday to be a review period. Thursday we will complete any remaining notes from the Cell Biology booklet, and look at a few Electron micrograph examples.
Part A: Multiple choice questions
Review your Cell Biology Booklet (Characteristics of Life, Cell Theory, Microscopy, Prokaryotes, Eukaryotes, and Cell Organelles)
Part B: Short Answer
-Plant Cells versus Animal Cells
-Functional interrelationships between organelles (See Cell Model Project Review Questions)
Eg) Mitochondia and flagella (this is a tricky one)
-Identify 2 Electron Microscope photographs (Electron micrographs)
Part C: Label the Cell
